Jake, Evie, Freddie
This shoot of Jake, Evie, Freddie was a present for Grandparents. Ian Robinson Photography had covered a Christening in May 2014 at Trafford MV Rugby Club. We were appointed to undertake the coverage of the Christening ceremony at church, then onto the rugby club. Our clients wanted to capture family and friends in a studio environment, so we took along a background and lights to cover the event. One of the guests, Debbie, present was quite heavily pregnant, with her little one imminently due. We took a couple of shots of Mummy and Daddy-to-be while we were at the event. Indeed, Debbie purchased a number of photo blocks as presents for her parents and other family, a week or so following the Christening.
‘Hello Ian, my name is Debbie, you took some pictures of me and my partner at the Christening, I was pregnant, do you remember me?”
“Of course I do, how can I help you?”
“I would like to book a portrait session or my little boy Freddie who’s 2 now, along with his two cousins as a present for their grandparents. Would you be able to help me at all?”
“Of course we can Debbie, I’d be delighted to.”
My brief was to take shots of Jake and Evie together, who are siblings, a shot of Freddie and a group of all three.
Upon meeting Freddie, I could sense he was a little shy and clingy to Mum, so I initially concentrated on Jake and Evie. We captured some lovely shots of them together, in differing poses. All the while Freddie was observing, but not engaging into the group.
It was time to start the games, as a ploy to encourage Freddie to join in with us. Firstly it was ‘hide and seek’ … Quick I thought, move the light, onto Freddie! CLICK, I GOT HIM! 🙂
Next it was to capture all three together. More games and kidology and we got it! … I have to say that you were a challenge Freddie, but we got you in the end!
