Boys will be boys!
Wow, this was a great session. Jeff and his boys recently called into Ian Robinson Photography. It was literally like a whirlwind! So much energy, what do I do?.. Do I temper it, do I encourage it, or do I nurture it?… Well I would like to think that I nurtured it.
I immediately hit it off with Jeff, a real down to earth guy, heavily into his music and a fantastic drummer!.. We soon discovered that we had mutual friends, from Gatley. So it was lovely to be able to reminisce a little too.
Time to shoot!
I often find that to stop your subject behaving naturally, hinders your session. I do feel that it is always best to ‘go with the flow’, so to speak. So the boys were left to their own devices, rolling around on the floor, fooling around amongst each other, with very little imput from myself. Tickling, pulling and pushing one another… Now was the time to step in!
Mum was due to come along too, however she was a little delayed, so we pressed on with my brief, which was to shoot the boys individually, collectively and also with Dad. When Mum arrived, I would then take the boys with Mum and then of course all of the family together.
All of my images are in the bag, where’s Mum?… Then she arrives.. The boys were so pleased to see her, it was a lovely moment. I seized on their excitement, asking Mum to sit on the floor, then inviting the boys to give Mummy a big hug!… They didn’t need a second invitation.. They gave her the biggest, warmest hug ever… They all look so happy together!
Thank you Jeff and Rachael, we captured some great images, didn’t we?… This was a session that we all enjoyed very much indeed. 🙂
